GE Mark VI

The GE Mark VI brought a new control architecture to Speedtronic turbine management, replacing the VME-based backplane of the Mark V with an improved I/O structure and IONet communication protocol. It supports both simplex and TMR configurations and was widely adopted through the 1990s and 2000s across combined cycle, simple cycle, and cogeneration plants. Mark VI systems are still heavily operational across global power generation infrastructure.

The Mark VI hardware set is based on the IS200-series and IS215-series boards, with components including turbine I/O, protection logic, servo control and communication functions. Each board type serves a defined role in the control architecture, and compatibility with the installed system version matters not all IS200-series variants are interchangeable.
