The Seismoprobe transducer family utilizes moving-coil technology to generate a voltage output directly proportional to the vibration velocity. Unlike solid-state velocity transducers, which integrate electronics into an accelerometer, the moving-coil design offers improved resilience to impacts and sudden excitations, making it ideal for specific applications requiring rugged reliability. Additionally, Seismoprobe systems are self-powered, making them perfect for portable measurement scenarios with no need for an external power supply.

While the Seismoprobe transducers are suited for certain applications, the Bently Nevada Velomitor family offers solid-state technology for enhanced performance in casing velocity measurements.

There are two primary versions of the Seismoprobe Velocity Transducer:

  • 9200 Model: Ideal for continuous monitoring or periodic measurements, especially when paired with diagnostic tools. It offers excellent resistance to corrosive environments when the integral cable option is selected, eliminating the need for additional protective measures.

  • 74712 Model: Designed for high-temperature environments, the 74712 is a specialized version of the 9200, built to withstand extreme conditions.

Interconnect cables are available to connect the transducers to other instruments, with options for varying lengths and stainless steel armor for added protection in harsh environments.
